The British Riding Clubs logo is “Get Involved!” and along with clinics, education and social events another way to get involved is representing your club in a number of different disciplines both at area qualifiers, National Championships and fun inter area competitions.
The Three Counties Riding Club are running teams in Dressage, Show Jumping, Combined Training, Eventers Challenge, Endurance and we hope shortly to be including Dressage to Music to the list too!
We run both junior and senior teams and everyone of every level is encouraged to take part irrelevant of experience. Whilst our teams are put together competitively there are also teams going out for experience and fun as well as those aiming for championship qualification, so there is something for everyone.
This is a great introduction to being on the teams. These are fun events and a great way to meet other club members and get out and do! All the unaffiliated teams run both at qualification level as well as smaller classes. For example the Show jumping competition in March starts from 2’3”.
Whilst for new members to British Riding Clubs qualifying competitions can seem intimidating. THEY ARE NOT!!!
Whilst our teams are put together competitively there are also teams going out for experience and fun as well as those aiming for championship qualification, so there is something for everyone.
There is a little bit of administration involved the first time you join a team at a qualifier. We need to take passport numbers, show names and vaccination certificates for the club records and entry forms and your passport and/or vaccination certificates must be taken on the day of competition. Other than that you are good to go!
On joining a team we will help you out with all the information you require as to what to wear, what your horse needs to wear, rule, event planning and anything else you may need. We also now have numnah badges to put on with our logo!
Alongside being on a team all qualifying competitions require assistance from our club and we are always keen for members to volunteer to ensure our teams can compete. This doesn’t mean all day (often only a couple of hours) and can range from writing for judges, tack checks or arena party. We also encourage as many members as possible to come along and cheer on the teams when they are competing, it means a great deal to the team and always make a day more fun!
If you have any questions or would consider joining a team please contact Sam Holland on firstname.lastname@example.org for Seniors (over 18’s) or Claudia Hamlett on email@example.com (juniors)
